I am behind on my posts!!!
So I bought this old lamp post from a lady that refurbishes furniture for 25 years... she is moving and needed to get rid of her stuff.
She gave me the idea to turn it into a candle holder...
So I took it apart...
Cleaned and took the wiring out... and the light bulb socket...
And painted it with ASCP Old White! Distressed a bit and...
TA-DAAA!!!!!
My friend Pam bought it the night she came help me pricing for the Fair, so I took these pictures in a hurry!!!!
We needed something for AROUND the candle, so I got a cheap fake pearl necklace I had...
I was going to hang some crystals (I am not sure you can see it but there are 3 little screws we can hang crystals from) on the base, but she said she had crystals for it at home!
I owe you a picture of it in Pam's house, she added the crystals and put a red candle on it, I can't wait to see it!!!
This is a GREAT SIMPLE project and the result was amazing!!!
Today I am partying at:

Love it, Claudine! The paint, the distressing, and that addition of the pearls are so pretty! Great job, girlie! :)

I am impressed, Claudine!! That is fantastic!!! I NEVER would have thought of that transformation!
DeleteMe neither, Leanne!!!
DeleteIt was the lady that SOLD Me the lamp that gave me the idea!!! I am meeting so many generous people, like YOU!!!!
Hugs,
Great idea and it looks really good. The addition of the crystals will really give it a bit of glamour, too.
ReplyDeleteBabs
Hi, Babs!!!
DeleteI know, we were FIGHTING over the price, because I made it for the Fair I was participating the day after... LOL
My friend fell in love with it and wanted to pay full price... and I wanted to give her a discount! So we settled for her putting the crystal (she insisted she had perfect ones for it) and just a tiny bit of a discount... LOL It was so funny!
This turned out really pretty! Great for mood lighting. I am jealous your getting a staple gun....I need a staple gun too. I would probably really hurt myself with it! Thanks you for joining me at Home Sweet Home!
ReplyDeleteSherry
Thank you, SHerry!! And the pictures don't do it justice!
DeleteOh., I got a DEAL at Canadian Tire. it would regularly be more than $200 for compressor and staple gun. I got it for $89 plus taxes... all together, staples AND SAFETY GLASSES (LOL) cost e $103 I think?? I have a dinning set I need to change the seats, I can't wait to try it!! But I think I will only have time in JULY...
I love your parties!!! I have visited a bunch of people but I am not done yet! Hugs!
Wow, what a clever idea and great execution of it!
ReplyDeleteWelcome, Michele!!!
DeleteI know! I loved the result!!! the lady that sold me gave me the idea!
Also, I think I could have done a much better job embellishing it! My friend took it before I could actually do something better, LOL! But she gave the idea to put those napkin rings around the candle, to kind of "finish" it. The candle looked "loose" on the base. Thank you so much for commenting!
Oh fabulous!!! You get better every time!
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining our party. Tomorrow, Wednesday, we'll pick a few features and open a new party. We look forward to you coming to join in again at http://www.finecraftguild.com/party/
